Welcome to Owls

This term we have a very exciting history project! We are going to be exploring the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings. The children will be comparing life in Anglo-Saxon and Viking time to life now. We will explore their lifestyles, transport, religion and settlements.

As always, we will be enjoying a range of books during reading for pleasure and guided reading. The first book they will be diving into is ‘Bog Baby’ by Jeanne Willis and Gwen Millward.  We will also explore various poems and letters.

In maths, we are going to be learning about place value and addition and subtraction. Alongside this, we will be exploring 2D and 3D shapes.

In science the children will test various materials to find their properties.

The class will explore stained glass windows and mud art. The children will be using this as inspiration to create their own artwork. In DT, they will be creating their own moving scenes linked to history and cards with sliders and levers.

In PHSE the class will learn about families and friendship. This term we have a very exciting history project! We are going to be exploring the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings.
