Teacher - Mrs Waters
Welcome to Badger class.
This half term we will be thinking about the question
‘What lives where?’
Our project this term will have a big focus on science, and how it influences our lives and the world we live in everyday. We have started the term investigating different plants and animals and will find out about their basic needs and habitats. The children will investigate life cycles and food chains, working outdoors as much as possible. We will also be looking at the structure of plants and the body parts of animals, making lots of comparisons and finding many differences. Reading will play a very important part throughout our project and the children will be exposed to many different interesting and exciting texts.
Reading underpins everything we do in the classroom and Badgers thoroughly enjoy Reading for Pleasure sessions with friends. Recommending books, suggesting alternative vocabulary, explaining the meaning of words, empathising with book characters and escaping into a wide range of texts.
Badgers also enjoy their second classroom, the great outdoors, where lots of learning and fun takes place.
